Acupuncture

Initial Consultation and acupuncture treatment $155 (60-75 minutes) – Review health concerns and symptoms. Discuss treatment plan.

Standard Acupuncture treatment $150 (50-60 minutes).

During each acupuncture treatment session, you will have a personal conversation with your practitioner in order to assess your progress and incorporate any modifications to your treatment plan.

How often should I come for acupuncture treatment?

Acupuncture is most often effective when conducted as a series of treatments. A typical treatment plan would begin with four visits approximately a week apart, over the course of a month. These treatment sessions will last about 50 minutes but we suggest you reserve a full hour’s time. At each of these visits you and your practitioner will be evaluating the ways acupuncture is making positive changes in your presenting concerns as well as your overall health. If a subsequent series of treatments is advised it is likely these will expand to cover a longer interval of time, i.e. every other week for a few sessions, then once a month, then seasonally.

Insurance

Many insurance companies are providing coverage for acupuncture treatment. Barbara Lopes Cardozo, MD will provide you with a receipt that is suitable for you to submit to receive reimbursement, if your plan provides coverage. I am not able to directly bill the insurance company on your behalf. Barbara Lopes Cardozo is not an in-network providers for any health insurance plans.

Currently, acupuncture treatment is included on the IRS list of approved medical expense tax deductions. As a result, it usually qualifies for reimbursement through Health Care Reimbursement or Flex Spending Accounts that some companies are now offering in their benefit packages.
